Xiahetu Fm
Type Locality and Naming
North-central Zhejiang. The Xiahetu Fm was named by Kong Xiangsheng et al. in 1989 and published in 1995. The naming section is in Xiahetu, Chencai Town, Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province. Lower-middle formation of the Chencai Gr.
Synonym: (下河图组)
Lithology and Thickness
In the naming section, the Lower part of the formation is composed of grey, grey-white marble, dolomitic marble and quartzite sandwiched with amphibolite lenses. Middle part consists of grey-black, yellow-brown biotite quartz schist, quartz schist and leucoleptite accompanied with amphibolite. Upper part is greyish milk-white dolomitic marble, marble intercalated with amphibolite. The thickness varies from 360 m to 1400 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It is in conformable contact with the underlying Daojiuwan Fm
Upper contact
It is in conformable contact with the overlying Xiawuzhai Fm
Regional extent
The formation is mainly exposed around Zhuji, Longquan and Qingyuan counties.
